Health Healing and Prosperity Conference Questions & Answers
If you are following the diet the way you are supposed to. Do you really need supplements?
One of the foundational principles for Jordan and everything that he does is that God created food to fuel and sustains the body. Therefore, the best place to turn to seek great health is in the foods He has provided for us---just make sure that these foods are also in a form that is healthy for the body (not refined, processed, tainted with pesticides, or containing chemicals such a steroids and antibiotics). However, due to depletion of the nutrients in the soil and due to large commercial farming, foods today do not contain the levels of nutrients that they once did only a few generations ago. This is why supplements are discussed as part of the Perfect Weight America program. Please know this---supplements are not necessary to receive results from the program. Remember, major benefits can be gained through wise choices regarding the foods you eat. The products in the Perfect Weight America lifestyle program are additional ways to help you reinforce the healthy food choices. The word "supplement" means to reinforce, come alongside, or in addition to.So think of these items as additional support and reinforcement for the Perfect Weight America diet. Also, if you are already taking a vitamin or supplement, then please make sure you carefully choose your products.
How can the Makers Diet help with things like diabetes?
Individuals with a medical condition should consult with their healthcare practitioner prior to following the program.Since "The Maker’s Diet" 40-day health experience is designed to attack the three I’s: Insulin, Infection, and Inflammation, we find that too much insulin in the blood leads to symptoms of hypoglycemia; too little leads to symptoms of diabetes. Foods from Phase I help balance essential fats with quality proteins. The low-glycemic-index carbohydrates suggested in Phase I enable the body to balance glucose and insulin in the blood. Sprouted, gluten-free grains will be added in Phase III.
Praying and Fasting! How does it all fit in?
Prayer and fasting are a powerful combination---both spiritual and physically. Make no mistake, fasting is not a means by which we can “corner” God so that our prayers are answered more quickly. Instead, our fasting displays our devotion to God. It is through fasting that we demonstrate our deep desire to connect with Him---even at the expense of our own wants and needs. Prayer and fasting are classical spiritual disciplines that have been practiced by patriarchs and saints of the faith since God starting revealing Himself to humanity. Praying during a fast can really help you stay strong, and committedas you communicate with God and ask for the diligence and drive to keep going. The physical benefits of fasting are that you are able to rest an important part of your body: the digestive system. All the eating and snacking that Americans do, there is rarely a chance for this part of the body to get some well deserved rest.
I have Type 2 diabetes and am insulin dependent. What do I eat?
Again, I cannot advise as I am not a qualified health professional. Please refer to the second question above regarding "The Maker’s Diet."
My spouse only eats meat and potatoes, any help?
Make sure your spouse is eating grass-fed meats from the allowable food list listed in the Perfect Weight America program, as well as organic potatoes. Meats can also be eaten as part of salads and /or brown rice. Maybe try sweet potatoes instead of white for a change. Adding some color and variety to each meal will help taste buds become more acclimated over time. And if by "meat and potatoes" you are implying that they are a picky eater (I’m a "picky eater" myself who is more of a meat and potatoes person), then try implementing foods gradually, but consistently. Think baby steps and take it one meal---or one food---at a time. Let the food list in Jordan's books be a guide for you. Keep in mind that there are other great proteins out there such a buffalo, venison, and fish that can be very healthy and very hearty.

Creatine supplements, flax seed oil, whey protein....are they ok?
Creatine is fine. Flaxseed oil is always OK because it’s a good source of Omega 3’s. However, you will get the best “bang for your buck” when you choose to get Omega 3’s from animal products (i.e. Cod Liver Oil). The best whey protein can be found in two places:
