Devoted Blog

Day 15

February 15, 2016

I have the great honor as our Events Coordinator to plan for all of our events and conferences. Because I get to coordinate the conference, I don’t always have the opportunity to sit in on every session as I am busy checking up on many different things.  BUT, every year since, I can remember, I have always snuck into the opener of our Devoted Conferences.

It is, without a doubt, my most favorite part of conference! I love when the lights lower on that first night and everyone knows the Opener is about to start. Everyone hushes their voices in anticipation of what is to come. Everything that I have been working towards for an entire year has finally arrived and the eagerness to see it unfold is literally overwhelming! I think to myself, “Here we go, ready or not!”

Music rolls over the auditorium and as always the production team puts on an AMAZING performance which brings the crowd to a magnificent roar. I find my eyes darting across the auditorium watching women of all ages and races explode with excitement. I soak in the moment and breathe a sigh of relief with a grin on my face. Every year, in that single moment, I am reminded of God’s all-consuming GRACE.

I am reminded of how faithful He is and my heart feels full as I think about the privilege I have to coordinate such an incredible event. In that moment, every sacrifice I have sown to see this conference be the greatest it can be becomes worth it. Every late night, every last minute change, every tear shed becomes obsolete as  I am filled with purpose and gratitude and reminded of the great privilege I have to be a part of something so influential.

I love that in that moment of anticipation before conference starts, every women in that auditorium feels that excitement and expectation for what God is about to do in and through Devoted Conference. As Devoted Conference approaches, I would ask that you join me in prayer that every single woman God ordained to be at Devoted Conference would be there. That they too, would experience the overwhelming presence of God as He meets us right where we are at.

God, we thank you that you have made a way for us to be at Devoted Conference this year and we stand in the gap for those who haven’t made the decision to attend yet. For those invitations that haven’t been responded to yet and every time off request to managers, let them be approved. We ask that you would work out all the details and bring your girls together. AMEN!
