When first asked to contribute to the Devoted Blog, I thought I could share on shopping. That idea quickly came to a halt when I realized there aren’t any scriptures that could be referenced for shopping. Wha-Wha.
Thankfully our God is a resurrection God. I say this because he brought my idea back to life while in the middle of worship at Wave Women. The Holy Spirit reminded me that Devoted is fun! You see where I am going with this? Yes, shopping is fun and we get to do just that at Devoted through resources and Devoted apparel. At least, that’s what I tell my husband I am doing (wink-wink). It’s not just the shopping but there are sleepovers, silly skits, and the infamous after parties. We had a carnival one year, horse and carriage and an ice skating rink- my favorite.
No matter what the week has looked like or what is going on in my world I know when I go to Devoted I am going to have fun! I can come in with baggage of the week and know that God is going to help me check it at the door when I leave. I have always left Devoted refreshed, at peace and empowered because a cheerful heart is good medicine.
Proverbs 17:22 “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”
Holy Spirit give me and the women registered for Devoted the strength to overcome our circumstances and commit to attending Devoted so that we may be refreshed. Help us to fix our eyes on you and fully engage in all that you want to do in and through us. Cast out the spirit of fuddy duddy and help us to cut loose!
