Being Led By The Spirit
John 16:13 NIV
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

GET UP AND GET MOVING

The word guide can be defined as “to go with one by holding them by the hand, a halter, a rope, etc., while moving forward.”

It is important to note that for the Spirit to guide us, we have to be moving. The Holy Spirit cannot guide us if we are not moving; in order to be truly guided by the Spirit we have to be doing something, anything, to be led by His prompting. Think of it like this, when your car is parked and you are waiting for your GPS to give you directions, it won’t. Why? Because it won’t update our course until we start moving on the road. If we make a wrong turn, it will re-route us, but ONLY if we are moving. It’s the same with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. If we aren’t doing something, there will be no guidance, because our lives are idle. If we make the wrong decision, the Spirit’s guidance will re-route us if we listen!

SIGNS AND WONDERS

Acts 15:28a
For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us”

Those who are the daughters of God are led by the Spirit! We do not need signs and wonders, we are led by the Holy Spirit and He has a big loud amen in our hearts to guide us where He wants us to go.

This is an important thing to always remember when being led by the Holy Spirit in this day and age. In the Old Testament, the God would guide His people through outward signs and wonders. But in the New Testament God uses the inward voice of the Holy Spirit to guide us! The scripture in Acts 15 is just one example of the original church being led by the inward voice of the Spirit. It is the same for us today! We always need to be listening for that inward voice to lead us!
When being led by the Holy Spirit always remember, keep moving forward, and keep listening for that inward voice. When we do this, God will lead us where He sees fit, all we have to do is choose to follow!

Colossians 3:15 GNT

The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful.
