Wave Conference Devotional – Day 24

Let’s be open. As Christians and especially as leaders we spend so much of our time thinking about others. ie. “How can we help that student get closer to Jesus?” “What in their lives is holding them back from their potential, & how can I help?” “How can I get them to open up to me about what is REALLY going on?”

I wonder if sometimes we miss the point, with great intentions. What if the whole time it is Jesus trying to get closer to us, trying to point out what is holding us back from our potential and trying to get us to open up about what is REALLY going on. When was the last time as a leader, we put all our leadership and responsibility aside and acted from the place of a true disciple?

God, what area in my life needs growth?

God, what in my life do I need to get rid of?

God, search my heart, before You search anyone else’s, and test me.

We serve a limitless God, with limitless resource, limitless potential and limitless power for our lives, but it always starts with us. It starts with us breaking away from the business of life, and saying “search my heart o’ God. What do You want to do in and through me?” I pray that leading into Wave Conference we make the effort to experience His limitless presence, and in turn access His limitless power for our lives.
