DAY 29
Devotional by Cheryl Monaco
What are the unlimited things in our lives that come from God and what are the things that limit us in our life’s journey?
  • God’s love and faithfulness is unlimited. “Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens and your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.”Psalm 36:5 (NLT)
  • God’s forgiveness is unlimited. “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12 (NIV)
  • Hope is unlimited. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may OVERFLOW WITH HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 (NIV)
  • God’s peace is unlimited. “And the peace of God which transcends all understanding , will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:7 (NIV)
  • The Holy Spirit as our counselor is unlimited. “For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit!” John 3:34 (NIV)

This is just the beginning of the limitless blessings we have through God!

If we have already obtained these things from God, just what holds us back or limits us in our daily lives? It is only ourselves. Og Magdino said, “And I was forever reminding them of the great wonders they could perform providing they learned to stand guard, night and day, against the worst enemy they would ever have…themselves.” We constantly look at our own abilities to succeed and get our eyes off of the source of unlimited resources at our disposal just by being in relationship with God. In the “Daily Bread,” it says “Never measure God’s unlimited power by my limited expectations.”

Several years ago I had mammogram done and something questionable came up, requiring further testing. During the interim between tests, my mind sent me spinning with all sorts of fears. I went for a walk on a beach in North Carolina. I love shells and can hardly ever find decent shells in Virginia Beach. I was trying to calm myself down on my walk, to remember God’s promises, and sing worship songs. I asked God if He would show me that He was with me during this time. I asked Him if he would help me find a whole conch shell on my walk (which I never usually find). I walked and walked looking for a whole shell. I found many broken ones but kept walking until I found a whole shell. After about an hour, lo and behold, I found a whole conch shell! I was so excited! I walked a couple more steps and found a second whole shell, then a coupe more steps and a third whole shell! I felt like the Lord told me. “See Cheryl, I give you more than you can think or imagine! These shells represent that you not only have me on your side, you have all three of us, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It is OK!” I can’t tell you what those shells meant to me! I even had my daughter make me a painting of the shells with the scripture Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work among us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus, throughout all generations, for ever and ever!” I had the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit with me! All of my tests came back fine!

Since we have these unlimited resources at our disposal through God, the important thing is that we use them for goals that align with God’s word. In Beth Moore’s book “Audacious” on page 33, she says “We want a goal God can support because what He supports, He brings to pass. In this context, He brings it to pass through us. He’ll supply the supernatural strength, the open doors, the opportunities, the abounding grace, His own indwelling Spirit, the incentives, the instructions, the insight and the discernment, the divine energy, the people, the partners, the favor and every single miracle necessary to accomplish it. He’ll kick down obstacles with His own foot, back off enemies with His own elbows, and blow the wind of the Spirit on us with His own breath. When we get behind the same goal God has for us, we’re going to get all the provision we need because the credit is pre-approved. That’s no small thing. That is what you call a guarantee.”

We sing a worship song at church that has the lyrics “I see a miracle in every chain You break, the power of heaven roaring within me.” I love the thought that God’s unlimited power is not just sitting in me, it is ROARING within me! Let’s not limit ourselves with our own thinking! Let’s use these unlimited powers roaring within us, without limit, to do great things!
