What can I give back to God for the blessings He’s poured out on me?
I’ll lift high the cup of salvation—a toast to God! I’ll pray in the name of God…
Oh, God, here I am, Your servant, Your faithful servant: set me free for Your service…
I’ll complete what I promised God I’d do and I’ll do it in company with His people,
In the place of worship, in God’s house, in Jerusalem, God’s city.
Hallelujah!
This has to be one of my favorite Psalms. It forces me to pause and reflect on the goodness of God. I often times find myself in awe of all that God has done for me; to think back on what my life was like prior to the day that I said “yes” to Jesus. It was only a few years ago that I walked into my church for the very first time, hoping to go unnoticed while quietly finding a seat, in the back of course, and sneaking out of the front door as soon as the service was over. It was my goal to not speak to a single person. What an odd goal to have when going to church?!
Looking back, I realize that I was afraid of being seen. I was afraid that someone would know the real me. But that is all a lie from the enemy to discourage you being in community, because he knows that it possesses great value. Community is where you are found but in the best way possible. You forge relationships with other people who have walked similar paths in life and can encourage you in your struggles. You are lifted up in prayer, locked arm-in-arm with your fellow sister, and empowered to be all that God has created you to be. Community is a blessing from our Father. We are called to do life together! How beautiful it must be to God to see His girls gather for His glory! To see the body of Christ in unity, exalting the name of Jesus!
That is exactly what Devoted Conference is – a gathering of God’s daughters. You are empowered to go out and change your world for the cause of Christ! I want to encourage you to do everything that you can to join us this year. Step out in faith, believe that God can and will speak to you because YOU BELONG! It won’t be the same without you!
Father, I pray for each and every one of my sisters attending Devoted this year and for those who have yet to decide to join us. I pray that they would have a divine encounter with You that will change their lives forever. May they understand the depth of Your love for them. May they truly know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they belong in community and to You! They are welcomed and they are loved. In Jesus’ name.
