Day 24

February 24, 2016

What are you believing God for this year at Devoted? I don’t know about you but every year, I do my best to walk into Devoted expecting to hear from Him. I don’t want to leave Devoted the same way that I came. I want to be changed; to love Jesus more, to love His church more, and to leave with a renewed spirit, to change my world and cheer along the girls beside me. I love that every year, as I have come to God expecting to hear from Him, He never fails to so beautifully give me exactly what I need to hear. Sometimes it’s an encouraging word from a speaker (Or a challenging word that I clearly needed to hear. We all love those right!!?). Sometimes it’s a whisper in the middle of worship, or simply chatting with someone new in the lobby that reminds me of why I do what I do. Whatever the case may be, He never fails to meet me where I am and provide wisdom that I need to hear. I remember when I ran a high school connect group, every year before Devoted we would meet together and all write down what we were believing for at Devoted.  Afterwards, we would get together to discuss our experience at Devoted. It was SO encouraging to hear all that God has done in their lives! Every single one of them left different and SO excited for the season ahead of them. Why? Because they came with expectation that God would meet them, and He did!

So, I encourage you to write down what you are believing and expecting to hear from God this year at Devoted. Never underestimate the power of EXPECTATION! Why not take the time today to pray and write down what you are believing for? Do you need wisdom on a situation? Do you need God’s guidance in a relationship? Need some encouragement? Need to let go of some fear? Need to leave behind shame? Whatever you need, I am confident that God will meet you right where you are!

I love what Paul says to the Philippian church….

Phil 1:3-6 (MSG) “Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God’s Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present. There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.”

God, I come to Devoted with expectation that I am going to hear from you… I come with an open heart ready to listen to whatever you have to say! Amen

Much love xxx
