I gave my life to Jesus at the age of 22, was married at the age of 25. It was when I was hugely pregnant with my first child that I started attending women’s meetings & also joined a women’s Bible study group. At the time it seemed the right thing to do as a pastors wife, but as I reflect back on my life, it was a God thing to do. Attending women’s meetings – like Wave Women, the weekly women’s meeting of Wave Church, & attending events like our churches women’s conference – is how I learnt to be a woman after God’s heart.
It’s at these kind of meetings that I learnt how to pray, how to read & rely on God’s Word, how to persevere, how to share my faith, how to think bigger than my own life & circumstances, how to dig deeper into God’s Word + so much more. I would not be the person I am today without the input of Godly women who were more mature in their walk with God, nor without sisters to stand alongside of me. My life has been enriched with lifelong friendships & also enriched by standing alongside my sisters in their time of need. We all try so hard to be independent & not need anything from anyone – when truthfully we were created to be in relationship. So why is it that we wait until we are in desperate need before we reach out?
Little did I know that it would take me another 15 years to have my second child. Without the teaching & grounding in God’s Word & the strength & example of women who had been on the journey longer than me, I don’t think I would be on the other side of my story now feeling whole & able to smile at whatever lies ahead.
My hope & prayer is that you would intentionally locate yourself around other Godly women – whether that be at weekly Women’s gathering, Connect Group or Devoted Conference. We are better together!

Thank you God that going to church is always a God idea! Thank you for my church & please help me to see the valuable role it has in my life as I continue to discover your will & plan for my life.
