I love the theme of this year’s Wave Conference – SEEK. To me it speaks of the longing that God has for humanity. That He is totally available and willing to be found by all who pursue Him. In fact, I believe His ear is permanently inclined to hear all those who call on His name.
Jeremiah 29:13 NIV
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Matthew 6:33 NIV
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
We now have adult children who are pursuing Jesus for themselves and building a life with their families. I know as a parent, I still love hearing from them and what’s going on in their lives, talking with them, and just generally hanging out. They’re not living at home anymore, and I’m excited to watch them all flourish in their endeavors. But I will always want to know how they’re doing and what’s going on in their world. I really believe God longs for that also. For us to walk with Him and talk with Him on a daily basis. To SEEK Him out and WANT to be with Him.
There is something wonderful about our own children wanting to be with us. And I think that is the Father heart of God. How He longs to be with us. For His presence to invade us; for us to draw near to him. I pray that this is our heart’s cry as we come into Conference – Jesus we want You, we need You, we long to be in Your presence. I have a sense that this year unlike any other, we will experience His presence in a profound way.
As we head into Conference – will you pray and fast with us each Thursday as we SEEK Him? Let’s be praying for heaven to come to earth, for God to speak to His people – pastors, leaders, children, young people, business people, moms, dads, grandparents, everyone who attends. For our speakers, the many volunteers, and for safe travel for all those flying and driving in.
I’m so excited as I think about all that lays ahead and my prayer for each of you is that you will return to your world different. Changed because you encountered Christ powerfully through worship, a word spoken, an interaction that happened, a new friendship or connection. May our world be better because of what we encountered.
We love you dearly and can’t wait to gather!
P.S. There is still room for you if you haven’t yet registered. I promise you will not want to miss out!!!!
