How to Fulfill Your God Given Purpose

April 14, 2016

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Ephesians 2:10 NIV

It’s easy to get caught up in the greatness of everyone else’s lives. We see all of the wonderful moments our acquaintances share on social media and we rejoice with our closest friends when a baby is born or that long awaited promotion comes through. If you’re wondering when your own special moments will take place, you’re probably too immersed in the lives around you to realize the beauty that is already upon your own life.

In Ephesians, we see that God has prepared in advance good works for us to complete. You were crafted with a purpose! God isn’t passing you the leftover blessings that someone else didn’t want. He’s had marvelous plans set aside for you since the beginning. You have a uniquely special calling on your life which means your thrilling moments may not look exactly like those around you.

You may have an amazing ability to create things – whether it’s art, music, movies, or stories. Yet, you’re wondering why you’re not a wife like your best friend or why you didn’t go to school to become a doctor like your brother. While you’re busy painting yourself into someone else’s story, you’re failing to see your own purpose by neglecting what you were delicately fashioned to do.

No one enjoys putting a puzzle together only to discover in the end that one piece is missing. You are an imperative and priceless piece of God’s puzzle.

Let’s hone in on what we were created to conquer so that we can complete the beautiful picture He has laid out for us.

I encourage you to meditate on the things that bring your heart an unspeakable amount of joy. Ask God how to use those passions to serve others and to perform the divine works set aside that only you can complete.

xoxo
